Kunstvlaai 2012: INexactly THIS INexactly THIS, the 2012 edition of Kunstvlaai: Festival of Independents brings together some of the most significant and unique models of artist-­‐run spaces, self-­‐organized platforms as well as art schools from across The Netherlands and abroad. For over a decade, the festival has supported and propelled independent thinking as well as collaborative processes in the Dutch cultural scene. It continues to be a hosting platform for diverse structural positions and organizational attitudes that celebrate speculation, buoyancy, generous openness and mutual inspiration. Now framed as ‘Festival of Independents’, Kunstvlaai remains committed to showcasing a multitude of contemporary voices. Make a Forest

Make a forest Britto organizes a 4 day-long workshop at the premises of National Art Gallery in Dhaka in what around 20 local and 2 Dutch artists will create individual or collaborative trees to make an artificial forest in or outside of the gallery space. The trees can be produced in various sizes with various materials. During this workshop the local and Dutch artists will exchange and collaborate (on) their ideas. Program: • Make a Forest by local artists and Dutch team • Guided tour and activities for school children• During the inaugural Day of the exhibition local artists/ environmentalists and Dutch artists/ experts will have a talk session aimed at the general and professional public. Artist in Residency XVII Dhaka Walk A performative travel through the city of Dhaka by Diana Wesser in collaboration with local artists. The ‘Dhaka Walk is based on a workshop with local artists, dealing with contemporary forms of street art and site specific performance in the urban realm, asking for the characteristics of the city of Dhaka.
